My series of little forest creatures is a celebration of the quiet delights that come from looking closely at growing things.

This little chipmunk is a tribute to my weekly CSA bouquet from our local flower farm, Kokoro flowers. These bouquets are one of my absolute greatest simple pleasures, and they have provided me with endless inspiration. In a kind of visual harvest, I spend all summer endlessly rearranging and photographing the flowers, storing their images away to sustain me through the winter. When I saw this purple allium and pale yellow moonbeam coreopsis together in one of my bouquets, I instantly knew that they needed to become a chipmunk’s fancy hat and ruff!
